Crane Operator

Day-to-day duties

• Operate crawler, all-terrain, franna and tower cranes
• Rig lifts to lift plans
• Coordinate with dogger
• Daily crane inspections

Requirements

• High Risk Work Licence (CN, CV, C0, C1, C2, C6 depending on crane)
• Dogging ticket usually held alongside
• Standard 11
• Working at Heights

Training pathway

• Progression from smaller crane classes up
• Manufacturer familiarisation for larger cranes

Career outlook

Shutdown season (Sep–Nov, Feb–Apr) pays the most. Advanced tickets earn well into six figures on 3:1 rosters.
