Maintains, repairs and replaces plant and equipment during scheduled mine site shutdowns.

Day-to-day duties
- Inspect, repair and replace conveyor components, crushers and screens
- Work to tight shutdown schedules and isolations
- Coordinate with planners, trade crews and OEM specialists
- Complete work packs, permits and JSEAs
- Return plant to production on time and safely
Requirements
- Relevant trade ticket (mechanical fitter, boilermaker, rigger, electrician, etc.)
- Confined Space
- Working at Heights
- Standard 11
- Experience in shutdown execution preferred
Training pathway
- Site-specific shutdown induction
- Isolation and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) training
- Crane and rigging coordination VOCs
Career outlook
Shutdown crews are in peak demand during planned maintenance windows and can earn substantial overtime and completion bonuses.
